ARRIVAL BY AIR

For tourists with a little more budget to spare, you can just fly in to Langkawi. The island boasts an international airport that can accommodate B747s with the capability to handle 2.5 million passengers annually and 1,000 passengers during peak hours. Located in Padang Mat Sirat, the airport is about 20km from Kuah town and 8km from the beach resorts in Pantai Cenang. Direct air services from Kuala Lumpur, Penang and Singapore are provided by Malaysia Airlines, Firefly, AirAsia, Silk Air and Berjaya Air. There are also direct or connecting international flights to Langkawi from Finland, Korea, Kazakhstan and Russia. Please check with your airline agents for current scheduling.
